Mark is a 3rd Generation family living in Valley Junction. Marks works for Lumen Technology (Phone Company for 45 years.) He is a Executive Officer in his Union CWA 7102. He has served as President, Vice President, and current serves as Secretary-Treasurer and Political Coordinator. He is the Treasurer of LULAC Council 307.

He has served on West Des Moines Human Services Board, West Des Moines Historical Society, and member of Southside Cares. Served on the Cinco de Mayo committee and Auditor for Iowa Federation of Labor. Mark has a Daughter Megan, 2 Step-Son , Tyler & Trey and four Grandkids.
